Believers Alerted to New Ageism & Secular Humanism

"......contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints." Jude 3 KJV

About us: Welcome

About Us

"Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ" Colossians 2:8.

This website was originally set up by two individuals from Northern Ireland who had many years experience within health and social care professions. Training within their respective professions has alerted them to the infiltration of New Ageism and Secular Humanism within health and social care training and also throughout many of the professions, education and most of academia.  Sadly, yet inevitably given the penetration levels within general society, the ‘co-joined twins’ of New Ageism and Humanism have infiltrated many churches worldwide.

Some will argue that Christians are permitted to avail of New Age/Humanistic therapies and interventions for the promotion of their health and well-being on the grounds that God employs a range of means to address His children's needs; therefore even seemingly ungodly means can be accessed in an attempt to find relief from any physical, emotional or spiritual problems a Believer may be experiencing; after all, most Christians would have no problem seeking help from an orthodox medical doctor.

This argument could in theory find some support considering that many atheistic and ungodly scientists have been used of God to provide mankind with medicines for physical healing and prevention of disease.  For example Marie Curie (1867-1934) was an agnostic yet through scientific research she discovered radium, which has been successfully used to provide radiotherapy treatments for a variety of diseases.  Many other such discoveries by ungodly men and women have been founded on sound scientific research and experiments but they were only able to uncover wonders already contained in creation with the providential permission of God.  These scientific discoveries have in many instances been beneficial for mankind.

On the other hand, the foundations of New Age and Humanistic interventions are clearly traceable to occultism and mysticism, a fact that we hope to substantiate within this website.  From Adam’s fall in the Garden of Eden up to the present day, man has continued to listen to the lie of the devil that tells them they will be like ‘gods’ by partaking of ‘forbidden fruit’ (Genesis 3:5).  Just as Adam’s disobedience was not for the good of mankind, neither can the partaking of the forbidden fruits of New Age/occult practices in any shape or form, be beneficial for God’s own people.  God cannot deny Himself (2 Timothy 2:13) and will never give approval to Believers who act contrary to His Word. Therefore therapies and interventions that are based on new age/occult and humanistic principles are clearly out of bounds for God's people.  There are many references in God's Word that clearly forbid the seeking after such things and as Christians we are instructed to try the spirits in the light of His Word. 1 John 4:1.

In Isaiah 8,  it is recorded that God's people refused 'the waters of Shiloah that go softly' and sought after the counsel of their idolatrous Assyrian enemies (v6).  They even went to the extent of urging Isaiah to seek unto familiar spirits (v19).  The Lord instructed Isaiah to refrain from walking in the way of the people and to fear and reverence the Lord of Hosts (vv 9-14) because the people's way was contrary to God's word (v20) and their disobedience would not bring them relief but would drive them into darkness (vv 21-22).

"And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter; should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead? To the Law and to the Testimony: if they speak not according to this Word, it is because the Truth is not in them" Isaiah 8:19-20.

The sceptic might say that this and other such commands were only applicable within the Old Testament economy and therefore have no relevance for the New Testament Church but this argument cannot be sustained when one considers that the New Testament Believers at Ephesus, who formerly used 'curious arts', made a bonfire from their occult books following their conversion to Christ. Acts 19:19.

Initially the primary aim of this website was to alert and inform Christians to the dangers of New Ageism and Secular Humanism within the context of the end times in which we are now living.  However as their research progressed it became clear to the editors that other topics needed to be considered, which are equally contributing to end time apostasy.  A range of these topics can be accessed via useful links and they hope to publish articles on our blog on a regular basis.

The editors of this website have an earnest desire to alert Christians to the dangers of New ageism and Secular Humanism and highlight their relevance to the last days. We also hope to encourage Believers who may have unwittingly been influenced by any of these errors, to refrain from seeking the living among the dead (Isaiah 8:19) and to turn unto the only One who can meet and satisfy their every need.

“Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and Jesus Christ our Lord, according as His divine power hath given us ALL things that pertain to life and godliness, THROUGH THE KNOWLEDGE OF HIM that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given us exceeding great and precious promises; that by these ye may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust." 2 Peter 1:2-4
